Directors Wrap Up

Hi All,

Its been an exciting start to the year as we hit the ground running on some new projects and start to wrap up a couple of our long term projects. We’re proud to share highlights from the past quarter, demonstrating the strength of our team and the impact of our work.

Several new projects we were successful on late last year, including BMD Moorebank WTP (Water Services), Taree Landfill Capping (Civil Engineering) and Cleanaway RAAF Amberley Water Treatment (Water Services) are now in full swing. Recently we have been awarded another landfill project for Narrabri Shire Council, Surface Water Collection Pond Construction for Tweed Shire Council, Lansdowne Public School – Blocks B and E Asbestos Remediation for NSW Department of Education and multiple projects for the Australian Rail Track Corporation.

As we approach the final quarter of the 2026 financial year, safety remains our priority. We continue to develop and refine an environment where everyone feels secure and empowered to thrive. For us, safety is a core value, not just a checkbox

Finally, we would like to celebrate Greg Linsley-Noakes & Claire Stark for reaching an incredible milestone—15 years of service with Synergy late last year!

Greg and Claire have consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism, and a strong commitment to excellence in everything they do. Their contributions have played a vital role in our success, and their positive impact on the team cannot be overstated. Please join us in celebrating this remarkable milestone—we’re truly grateful for all they do and look forward to the journey ahead.

Safety Alert

Workers on a Synergy project have been observed not wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
This Safety Alert must be communicated to all Synergy workers and subcontractors to reinforce that PPE is required at all times on site.

Corrective Actions:
To ensure protection from workplace hazards and compliance with Work Health and Safety legislation and industry standards, the following PPE must be worn at all times on Synergy projects:

  • High visibility shirt (long sleeved during daylight hours)
  • Long trousers
  • Hard hat
  • Steel capped, ankle-high safety footwear

Note: Additional site or task-specific PPE may be required as identified during site induction and in Safe Work Method Statements.

Workers who fail to comply may be permanently removed from site and subject to disciplinary action for serious safety breaches.

Fun fact

Donald Trump Fact-checkers counted 30,573 false or misleading statements during his first presidency. That’s about 21 per day on average

Staff Profile

  • Name

    Greg Linsley-Noakes

  • Job title

    Regional Manager

  • How long have you been working with Synergy?

    This is my 16th year

  • When did you move to Australia from South Africa, and what inspired the move?

2000 – I needed a better life and future for my kids, I miss Africa but this is my home.

  • What advice would you give the new recruits at Synergy

Put your head down and bum up and work, you are not judged by station, colour or education, if you work hard you will go places.

  • Who makes you're life more difficult Matt Smith or Matt Sedon?

Mr Smith knows me better (26 years) and can press my buttons, Mr Sedon is old school and treats the old bullet with respect.

  • You’ve got a track record of delivering profitable projects and happy clients — what’s behind that success?

Treat people how you expect to be treated. 2 Don’t expect people to do things you are not prepared to do yourself. 3. The client always comes first, however we don’t need the practice we need to make money…4. Diplomacy is the ability to tell someone to go to hell, so that they look forwards to the trip.

  • Is it true you were once Matt Smith’s boss? And be honest — was he a good employee?

We were a great team in huonville, worked hard but played hard… I’ll keep it civil … I remember Matt making the mistake of getting his hair cut at the hairdresser next door, spent my life beating the young girls off him from their onwards, we wagged a day off work and went to play in the snow up on a forestry road in the stix, remember being towed by a ute on a plywood sled at about 50k’s an hour, I was in front with Matt standing behind me on this sled, went around a snow drift and Matt pushed me off, I disappeared only to discover there was more road than snow…

Synergy was engaged by BMD to design, commission and operate two water treatment plants for PFAS and metal-impacted surface water at the Moorebank Avenue Realignment Works. Operating at 10 L/s and 5 L/s, the systems meet EPL 21972 and ANZG (2018) 95% freshwater guidelines. Since December 2025, over 10 million litres have been treated with zero exceedances.

Lining has commenced at the Willow Tree Landfill. A significant milestone with approximately 25% of the clay geofabric and the poly liner complete. With a geotextile and rock aggregate mix on the base and a geocomposite on the batters to go, we are on track to be completed by Christmas 2025. Synergy Resource Management thanks Liverpool Plains Shire Council for the opportunity to be involved in this crucial piece of infrastructure for the community, which will serve them well for around the next 30 years.
